How It Works

Two Paths. One Idea

Ask questions, share a link, get answers. Quizzes make that fast. Tests make it rigorous. Here is exactly how each one works, screen by screen.

⚡ The Quiz Path

A Quiz in Three Steps

No sections, no settings maze. The quiz builder is deliberately small, because sometimes you just need ten questions out the door.

1

Write Your Questions

Hit "Create New Quiz" in your dashboard, give it a title, and start adding questions. Multiple choice and true/false, with the correct answer marked as you go. Reorder anytime. If the blank page is the enemy, describe your topic and let the AI draft the whole set.

⏱ Typical time: about two minutes for ten questions.

Publish and Share the Link

One click publishes the quiz and gives you a clean link. Drop it in the class group, the team channel, or the newsletter. Nobody taking the quiz needs an account, an app, or instructions. They tap, type their name, and answer.

🔗 The link works on any phone, tablet, or computer.

3

Watch the Scores Arrive

Every submission is scored on arrival and appears in your dashboard: who took it, what they scored, and how they answered each question. The Analytics page rolls it up across quizzes, so a weekly classroom habit turns into a term's worth of insight.

📊 No marking. Not now, not ever.

🛡️ The Test Path

A Test in Five Steps

The test builder walks you through five screens in order: Info, Sections, Questions, Settings, Review. You can't forget a step, because the builder is the checklist.

1 · Info2 · Sections3 · Questions4 · Settings5 · Review
1

Start: Scratch, Template, or AI

Three doors into the same builder. Start from a blank test, pick one of 23 ready-made templates like Logical Reasoning or SQL, or paste a job description and let the AI draft sections, questions, and skill tags for you. Whichever door you choose, everything stays editable.

💡 The Info step captures title, description, difficulty, and estimated duration.

2

Structure: Sections and Timers

Split the test into sections, like Quantitative, Verbal, and Logical, each with its own question set and optional time limit. Then choose how takers move: linear (one way through), free (jump anywhere), or locked (sections open in order and close when their time ends).

💡 Section timing is how you recreate real exam pressure.

3

Questions: Write, Import, Tag

Six question types are live: multiple choice, multiple select, true/false, short answer, long answer, and rating or numeric. As you add each question, tag it with the skills it measures. Those tags are what turn a raw score into a per-skill report later.

💡 Skill tagging takes seconds per question and pays off in every result.

4

Settings: Rules of the Game

This is where a test becomes serious. Set the pass mark. Turn on anti-cheat: fullscreen enforcement, tab-switch detection, copy-paste blocking, and question shuffling, each toggleable. Decide whether takers see their results, and whether you get an email when someone finishes.

💡 Every violation gets logged on the attempt, visible next to the score.

5

Review and Publish

The Review step shows the whole test at a glance: sections, question counts, total time, and settings. Publish when it looks right, and QuikQ generates your share page with a link, a downloadable QR code, and bulk email invitations with delivery logs.

💡 Save as draft anytime; nothing goes live until you say so.

Then the Results Roll In

Every Attempt, Fully Decoded

Each submission arrives graded: score, pass/fail against your cutoff, time taken, and a skill-by-skill breakdown from the tags you set in step three. Benchmarks compare every taker against the group, question performance shows which items are too easy or too hard, and anti-cheat flags sit right beside the score.

Common Questions

Should I create a quiz or a test?+

A quiz is the fast path: questions, a share link, and instant scores. A test adds structure on top: timed sections, anti-cheat protection, pass marks, and per-skill analytics. If the result carries a decision, like hiring or certification, build a test. If you need quick answers or engagement, a quiz is ready sooner.

Do quiz and test takers need accounts?+

No. Takers open your link or scan your QR code, enter their name, and start. Only creators sign in to the dashboard.

How long does it take to build my first one?+

A quiz is typically live in two to five minutes. A test takes ten to twenty depending on how many sections and settings you configure, or a few minutes if you start from a template or an AI draft.

What happens the moment someone submits?+

Objective questions grade instantly. For quizzes you see the score and answers right away. For tests you also get pass/fail against your cutoff, time taken, per-skill breakdowns, and any anti-cheat flags recorded during the attempt.

Can I switch from a quiz to a test later?+

They're built separately, but nothing stops you from recreating quiz content inside the test builder when you need timers and anti-cheat. Many users start with quizzes and graduate to tests as stakes grow.

Is all of this on the free plan?+

Yes. Everything on this page, including anti-cheat, skill analytics, templates, and exports, is available free with no credit card.
